Read Anthropic’s 2025 revenue figures as a run rate
The company’s September announcement distinguishes annualized revenue from funding and valuation.

Our August 2025 carousel discussed Anthropic's revenue growth. A later company announcement supplies a dated primary source: Anthropic said its revenue run rate grew from about $1 billion at the start of 2025 to more than $5 billion by August [1].
Keep the measures separate
A run rate expresses revenue at a particular pace on an annualized basis. It is not the same as revenue already collected over a completed year. The announcement also described $13 billion raised in a financing round and a $183 billion post-money valuation [1]. Those numbers measure different things.
Do not add them together or use valuation as a substitute for product revenue. When comparing companies, check whether each figure covers the same period and uses the same definition.
What the source establishes
Anthropic also reported more than 300,000 business customers and over $500 million in Claude Code run-rate revenue at that time [1]. These are company-reported figures from September 2025, not measurements of today's business.
The growth figures do not prove a prediction about when AI will reach a particular level of intelligence. Assess those technical claims using evaluations of the systems themselves, rather than treating commercial growth as evidence of capability.
