Test a Bland phone agent beyond its voice
A convincing voice is only one part of a call that handles the caller’s request correctly.

Bland provides tools for building phone agents. Its documentation covers agent setup, call dispatch, transfers, evaluations and scenarios [1]. Our original post focused on how natural the voice sounded; that is only one part of evaluating the system.
Define the call's job
Choose a narrow task, such as collecting information for a callback. Specify what the agent should ask, which details it must confirm and when it should hand the caller to a person.
Avoid judging a demonstration solely by the smoothness of the speech. A fluent agent can still mishear a name, skip a required question or claim that an action succeeded when it did not.
Test difficult conversations
Use your own test numbers and fictional details. Include interruptions, corrections, an unclear answer and a request outside the agent's task. Inspect the result after the call and confirm that the recorded information matches what the caller said.
Bland's documentation provides evaluation and scenario tools [1]. Use checks that reflect your actual call flow rather than treating a successful sample call as proof that every case works. Keep the limits clear to callers and provide a way to reach a person when the automated flow cannot help.
