Use parallel Codex tasks with review boundaries

Separate tasks, inspect their changes and combine them only after checking the result.

OpenAI introduced the Codex app on February 2, 2026 as a desktop interface for managing coding agents. Its launch described parallel tasks, worktrees, skills and scheduled automations. [1]

The useful change is visibility: several tasks can have their own context and changes without becoming one long chat. Parallel work still needs someone to decide which changes belong together.

Split work by ownership

Give one task a bounded area, such as a failing parser test, and another a separate documentation update. State the expected result and the checks each task should run. Avoid asking two agents to rewrite the same module at the same time.

Review each diff before combining it. Then run the checks on the combined result, because two individually correct changes can disagree about an interface or assumption.

For scheduled work, start with a report or proposed patch. Add publication or deployment only when the action has a clear authorization boundary and a way to inspect failures.

The app can coordinate work. Repository rules, review and verification still determine whether that work is ready to ship.
