Where Cursor Bugbot fits in code review
Cursor's review agent adds automated findings to pull requests while reviewers remain responsible for the change.

Cursor's July 2025 Bugbot release describes an agent that reviews pull requests for bugs, edge cases and security issues. It comments on findings in the pull request and can pass work back to Cursor for a fix. [1]
Separate the editor from the review process
The original social post framed Cursor as competition for GitHub. Bugbot's documented workflow is more specific: it works with pull requests, adding an automated review step. That is evidence of integration into a development workflow, not proof that repository hosting and collaboration have become unnecessary. [1]
Decide what a useful finding looks like
Ask a reviewer to identify the input that causes the problem and the expected behavior. Turn a valid finding into a small reproducible test before accepting a fix.
Track false positives and missed defects alongside findings that get resolved. A count of comments alone cannot tell you whether review improved.
Keep a human responsible for approving the change, especially when a generated fix changes permissions, data handling or a public interface.
