Understand the price in Figma's 2025 IPO announcement

Figma priced its offering at 33 dollars per share; that is different from subsequent market trading.

Figma announced on July 30, 2025 that its initial public offering would price 36,937,080 shares at $33 each. It expected trading to begin on the New York Stock Exchange the following day under the symbol FIG [1].

Two kinds of shares in the offering

The announcement listed 12,472,657 shares offered by Figma and 24,464,423 offered by existing stockholders. Figma said it would not receive proceeds from shares sold by those stockholders [1].

That distinction matters when reading the total offering size. Shares sold by the company and shares sold by an existing owner do not send money to the same recipient.

Offering price and trading price

Our Instagram caption also discussed the first trading price. The company announcement cited here establishes the offering terms; it does not establish every subsequent market trade or the reasons investors traded at those prices.

Keep an IPO's announced price separate from the price someone could obtain after trading began. Neither number, on its own, explains the future of the business or the value of the product to a design team.

This is context for the July 2025 offering, not a current stock quotation or a recommendation to trade.
