What the Goku research paper describes
The February 2025 work studies joint image and video generation, rather than a conventional editing timeline.

Goku is a family of joint image-and-video generation models described in a February 2025 research paper. The authors discuss rectified-flow Transformers, training data preparation and infrastructure for large-scale training [1].
Generation and editing are different tasks
Our original caption called Goku a tool for simplifying video editing. The paper's stated focus is generating visual content. It reports evaluations for text-to-image and text-to-video tasks [1]. That does not establish that it offers a traditional editor with cuts, tracks and an export workflow.
Read the actual research task before looking for a product interface. A model demonstration can show what an approach produces without promising an available application for every viewer.
Inspect more than a selected sample
When evaluating generated video, check motion, object consistency and whether the result follows the requested scene. For an image, inspect the details at the size you intend to publish.
Benchmark results in a paper are evidence under that evaluation's conditions. They do not prove a universal quality ranking or a guaranteed result for your prompt. This article records the research behind the carousel and corrects the editing description; it does not claim that a hosted Goku service is currently available.
