Check Grokipedia's sources before relying on an answer

A study by Harold Triedman and Alexios Mantzarlis found that much of Grokipedia's early content was derived from Wikipedia, while its citation practices differed. Their 2025-11-12 preprint compared the two sites and examined article similarity and source selection. [1]
Read the finding with its limits
The authors reported more citations to sources rated unreliable or blacklisted by the English Wikipedia community, along with sources rated poorly by outside researchers. That describes their comparison and its quality criteria. It does not establish that every Grokipedia sentence is false or every Wikipedia sentence is correct. [1]
The study examined an early version of Grokipedia. It cannot certify the accuracy of an entry after later edits. [1]
Follow a specific claim to its evidence
Open the citation supporting the claim you intend to use. Check whether it actually supports the wording, whether it is original reporting or documentation, and whether a later correction changes the result.
For a technical instruction, find the project's own documentation. For a disputed event, compare original evidence and clearly attributed reporting. An encyclopedia entry can help you find those materials, but its confident tone does not replace them.
