Read the filing behind the Khaby Lame deal
The announced share transaction differs from a personal cash payout or a finished AI product.

The original post described Khaby Lame selling a company for $975 million and an AI clone taking over brand deals. The January 2026 SEC filing supports a narrower statement.
Rich Sparkle agreed to acquire Step Distinctive for consideration valued at $975 million, paid through 75 million ordinary shares. The filing says Lame controlled 49% of the target directly and indirectly. It describes a proposed transaction with conditions, rather than a $975 million cash payment to him personally. [1]
Separate the agreement from the product
A transaction announcement, a completed acquisition and a deployed digital likeness are different events. The filing alone does not establish that an AI version of Lame is running global advertising campaigns.
When reading a similar story, check the buyer's filing for payment form, ownership percentages and closing conditions. Then look separately for evidence of the claimed product: a demonstration, named deployment or documented release.
For creators evaluating synthetic presenters, define who can approve scripts and where the likeness can appear before producing content. A large deal headline does not answer those practical questions.
