Luma announced Ray2 on January 15, 2025, with access through Dream Machine for paid subscribers [1]. This gives the historical context for our post about generating cinematic clips with Luma.

## Describe one shot clearly

For a first experiment, specify the subject, setting, camera movement and action. Keep the action short enough to judge. A prompt such as a slow camera move across a desk is easier to evaluate than several unrelated scenes compressed into one request.

This is a suggested way to test a video generator, not a claim that every prompt produces the intended shot. Inspect the whole result for changing objects, inconsistent movement and details that appear or disappear.

## Separate generation from finishing

The release announcement described the available model and access [1]. It did not establish that generated clips eliminate editing or are suitable for every project without review.

Choose the usable takes, assemble the sequence and check the final export on the device your audience will use. Confirm the current account terms before relying on a feature or plan shown in an old post. A clear shot plan and a careful review remain useful even when the first clip takes very little time to generate.
