Check the hardware behind Muse Spark Open

Read Meta's model and licensing details before planning a local deployment.

Meta's Muse Spark Open announcement describes an 816-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model, with 42 billion parameters active per token and a one-million-token context window. [1]

The desktop example needs context: Meta describes two M5 Ultra Mac Studios, each with up to 512 GB of unified memory. It is not a claim that the model fits on an ordinary laptop. [1]

Choose a deployment before downloading

The announcement links model weights, supported inference engines and hosted providers. Check the model's memory requirements against the exact hardware and runtime you plan to use. Compare local operation with a hosted trial before committing to hardware.

Read the license and evaluations

Meta releases the weights under the Muse Model License with limited commercial terms. Read those terms for your intended use. [1]

Treat Meta's benchmark results as vendor evaluations. Test your own representative tasks, including failures and tool permissions, before putting the model in charge of application work. Keep the model revision and inference configuration with those results so you can compare a later release.
