Follow the October security recap with vendor checks
Separate software patches, compromised packages and exposed credentials before choosing a response.

The October recap covers several different failure modes. A software patch, a compromised package and an exposed credential require different checks. Start by listing which affected products you actually run.
Check the deployed runtime
Use the PHP update guide and Python certificate guide for their respective notices.
For self-managed GitLab, compare your release with the October critical patch notice. Custom installations using a separate Ruby runtime also need Ruby updated; upgrading GitLab alone does not supply that fix. [1]
Check package exposure before reinstalling
For LiteLLM, use the artifact and recovery guide. The incident notice warns against starting Python or pip in an affected environment before cleanup. [2]
OVHcloud's advisory identifies replaced CLI release binaries downloaded during a specific October 19 window. Check its platform, time and artifact details before deciding whether your installation was exposed. [5]
Revoke exposed credentials
Railway recommends replacing sensitive environment variables stored before October 21. Zeabur's follow-up likewise tells affected users to revoke or rotate stored keys and inspect related charges. Follow each provider's current incident instructions. [3][4]
For Palo Alto equipment, identify the product and installed version in the official advisory search. The recap caption does not name a CVE, so it is insufficient to select a particular patch. [6]
Keep banking passwords out of agent prompts. Use your bank's own supported login and authorization flow for any account access, and review transactions yourself.
