Pi is an extensible coding agent with terminal, scripting, RPC and SDK interfaces. Its current README requires Node.js 22.19 or newer. [1]

## Install and connect a provider

The repository documents this npm installation: [1]

```bash
npm install -g --ignore-scripts @earendil-works/pi-coding-agent
```

Open the project directory and run `pi`. Inside Pi, use `/login` to connect a supported provider subscription or API key. [1]

## Check the execution boundary

Pi's README says it runs with the permissions of the process and user that launch it. It does not provide built-in restrictions for filesystem, process, network or credential access. [1]

Use a disposable repository for the first task. If the work needs stronger isolation, follow the linked containerization documentation before granting access to valuable files or credentials.

Ask for a bounded change, inspect the diff and run your normal checks. Add extensions only when a real task needs them, and read their code and installation instructions first.
