Separate RTX 5090 launch prices from resale claims
The launch price is documented; later asking prices and predictions need their own dated evidence.

Nvidia's January 2025 announcement listed the GeForce RTX 5090 at $1,999, with availability from January 30. That establishes the announced launch price. It does not establish the price of every partner card, retailer listing or later resale transaction. [1]
What the two social posts claimed
One post described prices around $4,000. Another predicted next-month increases and a possible $5,000 RTX 5090. Neither caption supplied a dated completed-sale record or a manufacturer announcement confirming those exact figures.
Those numbers remain unverified here. A listing screenshot, if available, would establish what one seller asked at a particular time. It would not alone establish a market-wide selling price or prove the forecast came true.
Compare the same product and transaction
Record the card model, seller, currency, taxes, condition and date alongside a quoted price. Distinguish a product available for purchase from a completed transaction.
The original launch announcement is a useful reference point. A claim about later market conditions needs evidence from that later period.
