OpenAI's May 22, 2025 Stargate UAE announcement described a partnership supporting use of its tools in government, energy, healthcare, education and transportation. It also said the UAE would enable ChatGPT nationwide [1].
Access is not a subscription promise
The announcement did not specify that every resident would receive a free premium ChatGPT plan. National access, institutional adoption and an individual paid subscription are different arrangements.
Our social post made that distinction because the infrastructure and access announcement was being read as a consumer offer. Use the actual subscription terms shown to your account before assuming that a particular plan is included.
Plans still need implementation details
The announcement named G42, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco and SoftBank as partners and described planned computing infrastructure in Abu Dhabi [1]. Those details explain the partnership's scope; they do not establish that every school, hospital or government service has already integrated ChatGPT.
For a specific institution, look for its own rollout information: who can use the service, what data may be entered and what support is available.
This article covers what the May 2025 announcement promised. It does not independently verify the current deployment status of each proposed integration.
