What falling vibe-coding traffic can tell you

A September 2025 report raised retention questions; website visits alone cannot establish customer churn.

Business Insider reported on 2025-09-26 that Barclays data showed declining visits to several vibe-coding services. It cited a 64 percent decline for Vercel's v0 since May, while noting that restrictions on unauthorized bot access could have contributed. The article discussed retention concerns, not proof that every service's revenue figures were inflated. [1]

Separate the measurements

Visits count activity on a website. Customer churn measures customers leaving. Revenue retention measures how spending changes among a customer group. Those measures can move differently.

A lower visit count needs context: the time window, measurement method, bot handling and whether users have moved to another interface. It cannot establish how many paying customers canceled without additional evidence.

Evaluate the workflow itself

If you are choosing a development tool, try a task you expect to repeat. Record whether you can maintain the generated code, fix a failed build and understand the deployment. A traffic headline can prompt questions about a product's direction, but it does not answer those practical questions for your project.
